The Official Ashburn & Northern Virginia non-contact 5-on-5 flag football league and Summer Camp programs open to all kids ages 4 to 14. Proudly serving the community residents of Ashburn & Northern Virginia for the past twelve years. The league offers both a Fall League season and highly popular summer camp programs. Focus is on players "skills development" and "building confidence" for all kids regardless of talent levels. Programs available for the beginner all the way up to the highly competitive travel league player.
The NOVA Youth Flag Football league has since become one of the largest "Flag Football" operators in the United States based on player membership enrollment. Around the country, boys and girls ages 5-14 enjoy playing in this fun youth program that promotes fitness and teaches youngsters valuable football lessons about teamwork and fair play. NOVA Youth Flag offers non-contact continuous action while using minimal equipment. The kids, coaches, referees and parents have simply fallen in love with our structured youth flag football program. Enrollment in our NOVA Youth Flag Football League has increased each year since our inaugural season back in the Fall of 1997 to the point where we fill to capacity with a wait list each season.
High anticipation for the upcoming fall season includes the addition of several new positive features, including obtaining additional quality playing fields in the Ashburn community thanks to NOVA Youth Flag Football League new partnership with I9 Sports. The addition to our new playing fields (to go along with our current fields) will enable the league to accommodate more kids into our Fall League Season. This will also enable the league to meet the many requests of parents over the years to go to a two year age group division format as described below.
The NOVA Youth Flag Football League will also be using the vast large comprehensive infrastructure of the I9 Sports online platform to make registration faster and easier for all parents. Some additional benefits of the NOVA Youth Flag Football League partnership with I9 Sports besides additional fields in the Ashburn area and better age group divisions - includes more flexibility and timely ordering/shipment of equipment and jerseys as our league will now deal directly with the nationwide infrastructure of I9 Sports. As a result the NOVA Youth Flag Football League will no longer be sponsored by NFL Flag who had massive layoffs in the NFL Youth Football department this past year and could not guarantee delivery of our equipment and jerseys on time this fall season. The partnership with I9 Sports will guarantee that the NOVA Youth Flag Football League will have all equipment and jerseys several weeks in advance of opening day in September.
2010 marks our 13th season in providing youth flag football in the local community, but our league will also be operating our first ever Spring season next year in 2011. As a result to all of these new exciting features to our already highly popular organization, the NOVA Youth Flag Football League is extremely excited about the upcoming fall league season as a result of our new partnership with I9 Sports.
Fall League 2010 Age Groupings (age as of September 1, 2010)
• Skills Development Division : 4-5 year olds
• Mites Division : 6-7 year olds
• Pee Wee Division : 8-9 year olds
• Junior Division : 10-11 year olds
• Major Division : 12-14 years old
